When I was messing around with it, each big release was breaking major stuff and gems dependencies were hell.

Since then, Ruby has solved a lot of their major dependency problems! I’ve looked at my old projects and they don’t even have gemspecs. The best I can determine is that they’re Rails 1.2. :-P

I use Ruby for a lot of stuff, but haven’t touched Rails in forever. I just switched my own websites over to Jekyll. Glad to see the upgrade path for Rails is a lot better.
